If you want to purchase a plant we have listed below, but it does not appear in our on-line shop, we will quote you before you purchase. Please use the contact form by clicking here to advise us of your requirements.

We will reply via phone or email and give you current availability and price. You can then complete your purchase either on-line or by posting a cheque.

Populus

Populus alba
The White Poplar or Abele is a large suckering tree of very fast growth for tough
conditions with attractive white down on the underside of the leaves. Lovely in
autumn when the leaves turn butter yellow. Buy This Plant
Populus alba Richardii
A real gem, much smaller and slower growing than the type with beautiful butter
yellow foliage. Buy This Plant
Populus Balsam Spire
Makes an extremely vigorous large narrow tree with white on the undersides of
the leaves. The leaf buds have a fabulous balsam scent in spring which carries
far on the breeze. Ideal for creating a quick screen effect. Buy This Plant
Populus canadensis Robusta
Makes a large fast growing tree of upright habit. Originally bred in France at the
end of the 1800's. Unlike many Poplars dislikes wet waterlogged soils preferring
drier but moist conditions. Buy This Plant
Populus canadensis Serotina Aurea
The Golden Poplar is often later into leaf than other poplars but well worth the
wait for the clear golden yellow foliage. In the autumn the display continues with
deep butter yellows. Makes a good sized upright tree. Buy This Plant
Populus candicans Aurora
A very attractive Poplar with its pretty creamy white variegated foliage which is
pink tinged when the new foliage appears. Like many Poplars this makes a fast
strong growing tree. Buy This Plant
Populus lasiocarpa
Large attractive light green leaves with red veins and stalk. A very collectable
tree of medium size. Introduced by Ernest Wilson in 1900.
Populus nigra
The native Black Poplar once thrived across English countryside. This great tree
has been quietly vanishing from our landscape. Now it is Britain's rarest native
timber tree. Buy This Plant
Populus nigra betulifolia
The true Black Poplar now becoming a rarity in our landscape, our trees are from
genuine English stock, makes a large impressive tree. Buy This Plant

Populus nigra Italica
The Lombardy Poplar tall stiffly upright trees that evoke all those images of
France and the Continent, an excellent choice for making a tall screen or
windbreak. Buy This Plant
Populus tremula
This medium sized tree has toothed leaves that turn yellow and stay late on the
tree in autumn. Further interest in early spring when it is draped with long
grey-green catkins. Buy This Plant
Populus trichocarpa
Black Cottonwood, used as a quick growing screening or wind break tree, good
buttery yellow foliage in the autumn.
