Liquidambar

Liquidambar acalycina
A fast growing medium to large sized tree large 3 lobed leaves purplish when first
unfolding and again in autumn.
Liquidambar formosana
The plant we grow is likely to be of the Monticola form which proves to be hardier
than the type and with better autumnal colouring.
Liquidambar Lane Roberts
One of the best sweet gums for autumn colour reliably providing deep red black
purple stunning foliage.
Liquidambar orientalis
An interesting and not often available species. Usually seen as a large shrub of
slow growth, attractive deeply lobed leaves that colour up well in autumn.
Liquidambar styraciflua
Quite rightly gaining in popularity, this makes a fine specimen tree ultimately of
large size with a broad pyramidal crown. It has deeply lobed shiny green leaves
which take on some of the best autumn colour around. Buy This Plant
Liquidambar styraciflua Albomarginata Manon
A georgeous form of French origin similar in leaf to the thin fingered variety L.s.
Starred but with exciting creamy white margins to the leaf which during autumn
turns fabulous shades of purple and red black from the centre out.
Liquidambar styraciflua Palo Alto
Often one the first to start its spectacular display of fiery reds and orange of its
attractive foliage.
Liquidambar styraciflua Parasol
A shrub like species upto 2 metres in height and sometimes almost as wide, the
strongly weeping branches mske it fit its name perfectly. Good autumn and winter

A relatively new form with brilliant autumn leaf colour. Buy This Plant

Finely cut foliage which colours well in autumn.
Liquidambar styraciflua Stella
Makes a good medium sized tree of pyramidal outline leaves very finely cut and
similar to but smaller than that of L.sty. Worplesden. Buy This Plant
Liquidambar styraciflua Worplesden
Of English origin, this is a most sought after form with highly ornamental cut-leaf
foliage turning brilliant flame reds and orange in the autumn. Quite tolerant of dry
conditions once established. Buy This Plant
